HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN DOING CROSSFIT?

I joined Kakou in October of 2023. 


WHAT MOTIVATES YOU TO COME TO CROSSFIT? WHAT ARE YOUR GOALS?

CrossFit has become the perfect balance in my life. Before joining, I was working out at home and felt like something was missing. I have always enjoyed being active and putting in hard work in the gym, but I didn’t realize how important community is to my overall wellness. The community motivates me to come back for more.


My goal is to continue showing up. I enjoy achieving new personal records and improving my skills, but I want CrossFit to be a long-term part of my life, so my goal is to make it back in the gym the next day, ready for the next workout! (and string some toes to bars and maybe get a bar muscle up one day) :)


WHAT DOES CROSSFIT MEAN TO YOU?

To me, CrossFit is more than just a great workout; it’s about friends who encourage you and a space to disconnect from a busy workday and my daily responsibilities as a mom.


WHAT ARE YOUR FAVORITE TYPES OF WORKOUTS IN CROSSFIT?

I love burpees, box jumps, and wall balls.

Give me all the reggaton/latin vibes.  Badbunny, Carl G ect


IF YOU COULD WRITE ANY WORKOUT, WHAT WOULD IT BE? FORMAT, REPS, LOAD, ETC.?

Oh gosh. I’m not good at this. I’d probably have some running, wall balls, and burpees. See, no one wants me making a workout. 


(Don't worry Kakou fam, we'll come up with one for next year ;)


HOW HAS CROSSFIT AFFECTED YOUR LIFE OUTSIDE OF THE GYM?

There are days when work can feel pretty stressful, but once I get to the gym, some of the things that seem urgent can all of a sudden wait for the next day. After a good workout I can be fully present for my family when we are home together. I also love modeling for my kids how important it is to be active and strong. They complain about having to go to the gym so much but it’s good for them. Haha.

 

WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE A NEWBIE JOINING CROSSFIT KAKOU?  

There is always room for improvement in CrossFit. Even members who have been training for a long time and seemly have perfect form on movements are working on something. Don’t feel discouraged!
