HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN DOING CROSSFIT?
I walked into a CrossFit gym in 2018 not entirely sure what CrossFit was about but motivated to find a community that I could workout with and challenge myself to become an all around better person. I never anticipated finding a community that I would consider family and meeting my future wife!
WHAT MOTIVATES YOU TO COME TO CROSSFIT? WHAT ARE YOUR GOALS?
Working out with friends and giving my body the time and space to workout the daily stress motivates me to come to CrossFit. I have many goals, one is to string together BMU and get my first ring muscle up!
WHAT DOES CROSSFIT MEAN TO YOU?
CrossFit has become a daily ritual that I genuinely love participating in. Whether it's a wod that we throw down in the garage gym or going to class at CrossFit Kakou with friends, CrossFit is a nonnegotiable part of my life.
WHAT ARE YOUR FAVORITE TYPES OF WORKOUTS IN CROSSFIT?
My favorite movements are body weight movements like pull- ups, push- ups, especially handstand push-ups!

HOW HAS CROSSFIT AFFECTED YOUR LIFE OUTSIDE OF THE GYM?
Most significantly, CrossFit is where I met and proposed to my wife, Lauren. Additionally, I have made long lasting friendships in boxes that I've visited across the US and I'm so thankful for those people in my life. CrossFit has given me the confidence and strength to pursue my career goals and conquer day-to-day obstacles.
WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE A NEWBIE JOINING CROSSFIT KAKOU?
Don't be intimidated! Every single person in this environment is learning and working on some personal achievement or goal that they have set for themselves. The times don't matter, the amount of weight doesn't matter. Have fun, encourage others and be a good influence on the community.
