HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN DOING CROSSFIT?

I had a good run about 17 years ago, but this time around, I'm only 10 months deep.

WHAT MOTIVATES YOU TO COME TO CROSSFIT? WHAT ARE YOUR GOALS?

I love the daily challenge to do a little bit more and go a little harder than I did the day before.  My goal is to keep progressing and to keep dropping weight.  I've got another 35 lbs to go!

WHAT DOES CROSSFIT MEAN TO YOU?

A group of friends inspiring each other to do a little more than thought possible.

WHAT ARE YOUR FAVORITE TYPES OF WORKOUTS IN CROSSFIT?

Unexpected successes.  I started out pretty out of shape and one day I could do a box jump, and another time I could actually do burpees for a whole workout, and then I could do rx toes-to-bar.  It's those payoffs that make it so rewarding.

COACH JUST GAVE YOU THE CONTROL FOR SPOTIFY – WHAT'S YOUR WORKOUT SONG OF CHOICE?

IF YOU COULD WRITE ANY WORKOUT, WHAT WOULD IT BE? FORMAT, REPS, LOAD, ETC.?

There are two ways I thought about this.  What would it look like if I did a full workout I could smash and what would it look like to do a full workout I need to get better at?  If I strung together my strengths/milestones, it would be an emom for 25 minutes.  

min1 - 15 cal bike

min2 - 15 box jumps

min3 - 10 toes-to-bar

min4 - 5 wall walks

min5 - rest

If it was going to be a list of stuff I need to work on it would be, pull-ups, wallballs, double unders, and cleans.

HOW HAS CROSSFIT AFFECTED YOUR LIFE OUTSIDE OF THE GYM?

I'm literally the most active I've been in 25 years.  I play pickleball and hike and just about anything else, and before CrossFit Kakou, I did none of that.

WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE A NEWBIE JOINING CROSSFIT KAKOU?  

1st.  Join, don't waste any more of your life.  2.  Be friendly, everyone is so incredible, but you get what you give.  3.  Give yourself grace to progress at your pace while allowing yourself to be challenged to get out of your comfort zone too.  It's a tricky balance but you'll find it.
