QUINN DUDECK!
HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN DOING CROSSFIT?
I started in October of 2023 so we are coming up on a year!
WHAT MOTIVATES YOU TO COME TO CROSSFIT? WHAT ARE YOUR GOALS?
Moving my body through CrossFit has added so much positivity to my mental and physical well being and that has kept me coming back. My goals kind of include everything! It’s a sport I feel like I will never master and that’s what keeps it interesting, there is always a new movement to try or a new PR to chase.
WHAT DOES CROSSFIT MEAN TO YOU?
I love the act of coming to class and challenging myself with a group of friendly folks. Even on days when I am not feeling motivated to come I know it will be worth it and there will always be people to cheer me on or at least commiserate in soreness.
WHAT ARE YOUR FAVORITE TYPES OF WORKOUTS IN CROSSFIT?
I am a big fan of power cleans and deadlifts.
COACH JUST GAVE YOU THE CONTROL FOR SPOTIFY – WHAT'S YOUR WORKOUT SONG OF CHOICE?
I feel like I need a vibe change between the strength and metcon most days so I would go for something like...
Strength: Funkytown - Lipps, Inc.
MetCon: Moth Into Flame - Metallica
IF YOU COULD WRITE ANY WORKOUT, WHAT WOULD IT BE? FORMAT, REPS, LOAD, ETC.?
AMRAP x 8:00
5 Power Clean
10 Wall Ball 20/14 t o 10ft/9ft
25 Double Unders (I'll get them by next year...)
HOW HAS CROSSFIT AFFECTED YOUR LIFE OUTSIDE OF THE GYM?
Aside from the physical benefits, CrossFit has provided me with a lot more confidence. I have gained so much out of challenging myself through CrossFit and doing things I wasn't sure I would be able to!
WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE A NEWBIE JOINING CROSSFIT KAKOU?
It’s been said before but just continuing to show up is the best way to start. It's also been important for me to get comfortable with trying new things and being okay with failure. Improvements will come in time as long as you show up and keep trying.
