HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN DOING CROSSFIT?

Approximately 2 and 1/2 years.


WHAT MOTIVATES YOU TO COME TO CROSSFIT? WHAT ARE YOUR GOALS?

My carpool friends definitely hold me accountable which also motivates me to show up everyday. My goals are to get better at each movement and improve my technique.


WHAT DOES CROSSFIT MEAN TO YOU?

It means functional fitness, moving with a purpose, and mobility matters most.


WHAT ARE YOUR FAVORITE TYPES OF WORKOUTS IN CROSSFIT?

Box jumps, wall balls, and playing in the sand (bags).


COACH JUST GAVE YOU THE CONTROL FOR SPOTIFY – WHAT'S YOUR WORKOUT SONG OF CHOICE?

I'd throw on Nicks Metcon Mix which is mostly hip hop. "I Ain't Gon Hold Ya" is the one song I'd put on to motivate me to get a PR.


IF YOU COULD WRITE ANY WORKOUT, WHAT WOULD IT BE? FORMAT, REPS, LOAD, ETC.?

HOW HAS CROSSFIT AFFECTED YOUR LIFE OUTSIDE OF THE GYM?

It's definitely made me more conscious of how I move when doing everyday things or even the weekend warrior yardwork activities. It's had a positive impact on my family as well by setting an example of prioritizing your health.

 

WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE A NEWBIE JOINING CROSSFIT KAKOU?  

If they were new to CrossFit I'd tell them to listen to their coaches and compete with themselves before they compete with others. If they were just new to Kākou, I would tell them to embrace the environment and come to the 6am class 😉
